Frances M. (Milo) Blethen, of Plainville, passed away Monday December 4, 2017 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. She was the loving wife of Arthur R. “Art” Blethen with whom she shared 63 years of marriage.

Frances was born in Plainville a daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Smagacz) Milo and was a lifelong Plainville resident. She was a graduate of Plainville High School where she met her “sweetheart” Art. She worked as the secretary to the President at General Electric in Plainville, retiring after many years of service. She was a longtime member of the Girls Club at General electric as well as a member of the Austrian Hungarian Singing and Sick Benefit Society Danau, Inc. of New Britain. Frances loved shopping, Kid Rock concerts and going to see her son’s band, the Bootleg Band. She was an avid collector of Betty Boop memorabilia and loved vacationing at Hampton Beach and the Pocono Mountains, but mostly she loved spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren, who were the loves of her life. Frances was a Communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church in Plainville.

Besides her husband, she leaves her son Mark Blethen and his wife April of Plainville, her daughter Laurie Dougherty and her husband Dan of Plainville, her grandchildren, Kristen and Adam Sastri and his wife Stephanie, her great grandchildren, Kyle and Connor Voisine, her nephew, Michael Cusack and her brother-in-law, Robert Blethen and his wife Linda of Thomaston. She was predeceased by her sister Jean Cusack, her niece, Diane Cusack and her step father, Vito Virello.

Funeral services in celebration of Frances’ life will be held on Thursday December 7, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the Bailey Funeral Home 48 Broad Street in Plainville. Burial will be held privately. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association 5 Brookside Drive Wallingford, CT 06492.
