Mrs. Pauline A. (Gaumond) Brousseau, 82, of Plainville passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Apple Rehab of Farmington Valley in Plainville. She was the wife of Robert Brousseau with whom she shared 62 years of marriage.
Pauline was born August 7, 1931 in Southbridge, MA a daughter of the late Leo and Marianna (Yvonne) Gaumond and was a longtime Plainville resident. She was a graduate of Plainville High School and was employed as the Supervisor of Housekeeping at the Plainville Convalescent Home retiring after 18 years of service. Pauline enjoyed crocheting and knitting mittens for her grandchildren and church bazaars and also enjoyed spending many winters in Florida. She was a Communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church where she was also a member of the Ladies Guild.
Besides her husband, she leaves her eight children, Raymond Brousseau and his wife Kathleen of Forestville, Roger Brousseau and his wife Kathleen of Plainville, George Brousseau and his wife Elaine of Berlin, Karen Casey and her husband Bill of Plainville, Claire Lembo and her husband Timothy of Southington, Denise Ayotte and her husband Dan of Plantsville, Mary Ann Maroney and her husband Tom of Bristol and Phillip Brousseau of Plainville, her sisters, Annette Murphy and her husband Francis of Bristol and Lucille Boilard and her husband Norman of Plainville as well as 14 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Jean Paul Gaumond and her sister Rita Russell.
Funeral services for Pauline will be celebrated on Thursday, at 9 a.m. from the Bailey Funeral Home 48 Broad Street in Plainville to Our Lady Mercy Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Committal services will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery in Plainville. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. If desired memorial contributions may be made to the Our Lady Mercy Church, 19 South Canal Street Plainville, CT 06062.
