Yvonne B. Gravel

Yvonne B. Gravel, 91, of Southington, formerly of Plainville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 27, 2017. She is now reunited with her loving husband, Robert Gravel, who predeceased her in 1996.

Yvonne was born on February 8, 1926, in Stockholm, Maine, daughter to the late Patrick and Alvina (Marquis) Bourgoin. She worked as a laborer in the Hand Tool Department for Stanley Tools retiring in 1988 after a 32 year career. A resident of CT since 1951, Yvonne spent many years in Plainville and was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church where she was affiliated with the Ladies Guild. In addition, she was involved with the Plainville Senior Center.

Yvonne is survived by her sister, Eva Chasse, of East Millinocket, ME, her brother, Patrick Joseph “Joe” Bourgoin, of ME, a very special Goddaughter, Paula Gorham and her family, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Irene Herbert, of Fort Kent, ME, and Ida Roy, of Van Buren, ME, and her brother, Onezime Bourgoin.

Funeral Services in celebration of Yvonne’s life will begin on Monday, October 2 at 9 AM from Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St., Plainville with a Mass of Christian Burial being held at 10 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 94 Broad St., Plainville. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery in Plainville. Family and friends are welcome to gather on Sunday, October 1 between 2 and 4 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Yvonne can be made to Our Lady of Mercy Church, 94 Broad St., Plainville, CT 06062 or to The Orchards at Southington, 34 Hobart St, Southington, CT 06489.
