William J. Wallace

December 4, 1932 ~ December 25, 2016 (age 84) 84 Years Old


William J. Wallace, 84, of Brewer, Maine, formerly of Plainville, passed away on December 25, 2016. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, the late Mary (Ostroski) Wallace.

William was born on December 4, 1932 in Gardener, ME son to the late John E. Wallace and Louise T. Trott. He was raised in Maine then relocated to CT graduating from Berlin H.S. in 1951. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict.  William worked as a machinist for 42 years and also as a driver of an escort vehicle for large trucks. He was a member of the NRA and in his former years was a pistol permit class instructor. William loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his sons: Scott Wallace, Robert Wallace, Karl Wallace, and William Wallace; his daughters, Laura Kiernan, Susan Galespie, and Tammy Biddle; his step-sons, Ofc. Brian Steiner and his wife, Wendy, and Daniel Steiner; his brother, Leon Wallace and his wife, Judy; his sisters, Anita Hull and Betty Emerson; and many grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his step-son, Frederick Steiner.

A graveside service with full military honors in celebration of William’s life will be held on Sat. June 3, 2017 at 12 PM at Saint Joseph Cemetery, 151 Farmington Ave., Plainville. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of William can be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202.
