Rose Norris Tribute

Rose M. Norris, a longtime resident of Plainville, CT, since 1963, passed away peacefully after a battle with cancer on August 11, 2018, with her family by her side.

She was born June 10, 1937, in New Britain, CT daughter to the late Peter and Mary Canova. Rose enjoyed exercising at L.A. Fitness with her friends and she loved going to the Casinos. She was the ultimate animal lover, having cats for most of her life and feeding the wildlife and stray cats in her backyard. Her love for animals proved true as she was a big supporter of the ASPCA and the CT Humane Society. Both organizations she contributed to every month.

Rose was predeceased by her brother, Peter J. Canova and her husband, Peter R. Norris. She is survived by her son, Peter P. Norris with wife, June, and grandson, Peter J., of Bristol, CT; son, Patrick W. Norris with wife, Kathleen, and granddaughter Cassondra, of Spring Hill, Florida; nephew, Peter Canova with wife, Gina, and grandnephews, Marcus and Charlton; niece, Mary Sebeck with husband, JR., and niece, Gloria Canova with longtime boyfriend, Mark, all from Nevada. She also leaves behind a sister-in-law, Philippa Libby, a nephew, Paul Dickey, a niece, Pauline Miller and Paul, Allen and Mark Norris, from Maine.

A Graveside service in celebration of Rose’s life will be held at 3:30 PM on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Saint Mary Cemetery, 1309 Stanley Street, New Britain. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the cemetery. There are no calling hours. In memory of Rose and her love for animals, any donations can be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), 424 E. 92nd St, New York, NY 10128-6804 or the CT Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd, Newington, CT 06111.
