Reginal O. “Reggie” Michaud, 79, of New Britain passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at the Jerome Home in New Britain. He was the beloved husband for 24 years to Kathleen Giblin.

Reggie was born on June 16, 1938, in Bradford, Maine son to the late Neil and Shirley (Mansell) Michaud. He grew up in Bradford, Maine and later relocated to CT, graduating from Newington High School Class of 1957. Reggie was a proud American, having served our country in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged. He was a longtime resident of New Britain where he resided with his wife. Reggie worked as a draftsman for various companies and was last employed by Topper and Griggs. He was an avid photographer and bicyclist. In addition, he enjoyed traveling and was able to visit 49 state capitols, hoping to make it to all 50. Reggie had a great sense of humor and family was the most important aspect of his life.

In addition to his wife, Kathleen, Reggie is survived by his children: Neil Michaud and his wife, Susan, of Marlborough, MA, Lisa Burr and her husband, Jason, of Higganum, Scott Michaud and his wife, Patricia, of Wethersfield; his step-children, Colleen Giblin, of Eagle Lake, ME, Scott Giblin and his wife, Michelle, of Bristol, Colin Giblin and his wife Jessica, of Canton, and Craig Giblin and his wife, Julie, of Glen Ellyn, IL; his brother, Gerald Michaud and his wife, Helen, of Greenbush, ME; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was predeceased by his former wife, Lucille, his brothers, George and Dennis, and his sister, Sheila.

Family and friends are welcome to gather at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad Street, Plainville on Saturday, January 6 between 10AM  and 12PM. Words of remembrance will be shared concluding the visitation. Burial will be held privately.
