Paul E. Corriveau

Paul Emile Corriveau, 85, of Plainville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 12, 2017 at Hartford Hospital after a long illness. 

Paul was born on June 10, 1932 in St. Agatha, Maine, son of the late Joseph and Rose Anna (Cyr).  He married Jeanne (Boucher) in Lewiston, Maine on November 29, 1952.  She predeceased him in 2005, after 52 years of marriage.  

Paul worked at Fafnir Bearings Co. in New Britain for 37 years before retiring in 1991.  Paul and Jeanne danced with the Cheshire Cats Square Dance Club for a number of years.  They spent many a summer camping at Pequot Ledge on Lake Gardner.  Paul also enjoyed fishing, bingo, and trips to Maine.  He was a longtime member of Our Lady of Mercy Church.  Above all, Paul was known for his good nature, generosity, and dedication to his family.

He is survived by three children, Anna Gagnon of Plainville; Conrad Corriveau and his wife Gloria of Southington; and Susan Peters and her husband Michael of Plainville; five grandchildren, Chad Gagnon and his wife Rachel of Plainville; Melissa (Corriveau) Pietrantuono and her husband Michael of Naugatuck; Darren Corriveau of Carmel, Maine; and Stephanie (Peters) Romeo and her husband Charles, and Steven Peters and his partner Lyz Tomsuden, all of Rutland, Vt; three great-grandchildren, Corrin and Arden Gagnon and William Romeo; a brother, Adrien Corriveau of Lewiston, Maine; and many nieces, nephews, and brothers- and sisters-in-law.  

Family and friends are invited to call on the family on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Bailey Funeral Home 48 Broad Street in Plainville. Funeral services for Mr. Corriveau will be held on Friday beginning at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home to Our Lady of Mercy Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will follow in Saint Thomas Cemetery in Southington.
