Martin A. Thibault

Martin A. “Marty” Thibault, 68, of South Carolina, formerly a longtime Plainville resident, passed away unexpectedly on May 16, 2017 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of 46 years to Joanne (Morante) Thibault.

Marty was born on March 28, 1949 in St. Agatha, Maine to the late Raymond Thibault and Evangeline (Martin) Thibault. Marty attended E.C. Goodwin specializing in carpentry and graduated in 1968. He was a skilled carpenter and wood worker. Shortly after graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps where he served our country proudly during the Vietnam Era and he was honorably discharged. Marty earned his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from CCSU. He worked for Stanley Works in New Britain for several years in manufacturing and went on to work for and retire from the Hospital of Special Care in the engineering department. Marty was an avid UCONN women’s basketball fan.

In addition to his wife, Joanne, and his mother, Evangeline, Marty is survived by his children: his daughter, Aimee Jusino and her husband, Rob, of Plainville, and his son, Alex Thibault and his wife, Karen, of Bristol; his grandchildren, Anthony Thibault, Andrew Jusino, and Jaylee Thibault; his step-grandchildren, Amber and Alisha Savaria; his sisters, Jeanne Fort, Maryann Azarigian and her husband, Clifford, Monique Skowronek, and Margaret Paruske and her husband, Richard; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Marcel Thibault and his brother-in-law, Kenneth Fort Sr.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 25 from 4 to 8 PM at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St., Plainville with a service in celebration of Marty’s life beginning at 7:30 PM. Military honors presenting the U.S. flag will follow the service. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Marty can be made to the Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
