Mario A. Tacinelli, 87, of Plainville, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain.

Mario was born August 5, 1929 in Southington, CT. He graduated from Southington High School. Following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Airforce and was a veteran of the Korean War. Mario was a compassionate man who saw the good in every situation and every person he crossed paths with.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lorraine (Thibeault) Tacinelli; his daughters, Denise (Tacinelli) Dalfino and her husband, Jack, of New Hartford, and Donna (Tacinelli) McHugh and her husband, Paul, of Wolcott; and his sons, Mark Tacinelli, of Winsted and Matthew Tacinelli and his wife, Tracy, of Bristol. He also leaves 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his three brothers and his one sister.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 1 from 5 to 7 PM at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St., Plainville. Funeral Services in celebration of Mario’s life will begin on Friday, June 2 at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 94 Broad St., Plainville for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at the church. In honor of Mario’s service to our country, military honors will be rendered following the mass. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
