Lucy R. (Tarca) Chambers

Lucy R. (Tarca) Chambers, 90 of Plainville passed away Sunday March 4, 2018 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. She was the loving wife of the late Arthur Chambers. Lucy and Arthur were married on September 4, 1948.

Lucy was born December 17, 1927 in Berlin, a daughter of the late William and Savina (Baraglia) Tarca and was a longtime Plainville resident. She attended Plainville schools and had worked at General Electric for many years where she met the love of her life, Arthur. She was a member of the Plainville Senior Center , enjoyed UConn Men’s and Women’s Basketball, loved planting her flower gardens, but mostly Lucy looked forward to spending time with her loving family. Lucy was also a Communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church.

She leaves her son, William A. Chambers and his wife Kathleen of Plainville, her daughter, Joyce Jones and her significant other Brien Morrissey of Plainville, her grandchildren, Erin Chambers, Sean Jones, Jennifer (Chambers) Alicea and her husband Julio and Ryan Chambers, her great grandchildren, Bryanna and Jayden Alicea, her sister-in-law, Edith Chambers and many nieces and nephews. Lucy was predeceased by her brothers, John and Thomas and her sisters, Lena and Emma.

Funeral services in celebration of Lucy’s life will be held on Monday beginning at 10:00 a.m. from the Bailey Funeral Home 48 Broad Street in Plainville to Our Lady of Mercy Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial in Saint Joseph Cemetery in Plainville will be held privately. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Plainville Community Food Pantry 54 South Canal Street Plainville, CT 06062.
