Linda Sylvia (Draper) Vaillancourt, 78, of Southington passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 surrounded by her loving family at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain. She was the devoted and loving wife to John I. Vaillancourt, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage.
Linda was born in New Britain on April 25, 1941 daughter to the late Wesley and Sylvia (Pisko) Draper. She graduated with her master’s degree and was a school teacher in New Britain for 6 years prior to starting a family with her husband. As a mother, Linda became a full-time homemaker, taking care of the home and raising her children. She took up selling Avon products and truly enjoyed doing so and was a sales representative for many years. Linda was an avid bowler, bowling at least two times a week and in between would go to the movies with her husband, son, and a dear friend. In addition, she loved the beach and swimming in the pool, especially with her grandson. Linda adored animals and had a profound love for cats, especially her two fur babies, Yabbi and Mya. Above all, Linda enjoyed the time spent surrounded by her family and she will be missed deeply by all that knew her.
In addition to her husband, John, Linda is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Jackson and her husband, Christopher, of Avon; her adored grandson, Griffin Jackson, of Avon; her sister, Dory Hill and her husband John, of Avon; and her three nieces and one nephew. She was predeceased by her sons, Darryl and Todd Vaillancourt.
