Lewis E. Johns, 66, of Bristol, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. He was the loving and devoted husband of 21 years to Gayle Scapellati.
Lewis was born on August 17, 1951 in Baltimore, Maryland son to the late Lewis and Ruth May (Kemp) Johns. He was an avid pool player and enjoyed playing at the Bristol Senior Center and at the Billiards in Southington where he was on a pool league. He also enjoyed playing poker with family and friends. Lewis was a fan of comics and liked just about any comic character in existence. Over his working years, Lewis held many positions for various companies, including working in the plumbing department at Home Depot and later in the display set-up crew traveling to many different locations. He also formerly worked as a truck driver, a locksmith, and in computer relocation, helping to dissemble computers and relocate them.
In addition to his wife, Lewis is survived by his daughter, Michelle Hazur; his step-daughter, Stacy Charpentier; his step-son, Keith DeVoe; his grandchildren, Amber, Joseph, Chloe, Macyn, Xander and Kacie; his sister, Darlene Graham; his brothers, William Boney and Frederick Boney; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family. He also leaves behind his fury companion, his cat, China.
Services in celebration of Lewis’ life will be held privately at the convenience of his family. Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St., Plainville is assisting the family with arrangements.
