Lawrence T. "Larry" Westervelt

Lawrence T. “Larry” Westervelt, 51, of New Britain, passed away unexpectedly on February 3, 2018 at the Hospital of Central CT. He was the loving husband of 29 years to Katherine "Katie" (Shannon) Westervelt.

Larry was born on May 28, 1966, in Teaneck, New Jersey son to Percy Westervelt and the late Joan (Sobieski) Westervelt. He was a master plumber and formerly owned and operated his own business, Custom Pipe and Drain. Larry was a kind, giving man who was full of love and compassion. He was a man with a heart of gold and a true badass!! Larry was an avid motorcycle rider and took pride in his tattoos. In addition, he was a hilarious man who loved his family and friends dearly. He will be missed by all who crossed paths with him.

In addition to his wife, Katie, and his father, Percy and his wife, Doris, Larry is survived by his children, Charles Westervelt, of Manchester, Kristin Westervelt, of New Britain, Jennifer Westrack, of Bristol, and DeAnna Chapman, of Ohio; his grandchildren, Cody, Michael, Anthony, Matthew, Christopher, and Isabella; his sister, Noreen White; his brother, Peter Westervelt; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family. In addition, he leaves behind his fury companions, Zeus and Harley. He was predeceased by his mother and his brothers, George Gennett and Keith Westervelt.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018 from 5 to 7 PM at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St., Plainville. A service in celebration of Larry’s life will begin at 6:45 PM. Burial will be held privately.
