June M. Cleveland, 91, former longtime resident of Plainville, passed away on August 10, 2018 at the Governer’s House in Simsbury. She is now reunited with her loving husband of over 60 years, Raymond Cleveland.
June was born November 22, 1926 in Springfield, MA, daughter to the late Arthur and Margaret Day. A devoted Catholic, she was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church and was a member of the church choir. June was a very loving woman and her family was the most important aspect of her life. She will be missed dearly by her family as they cherish the fond memories they have shared with her.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Stagis; her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Sean, and Michael Stagis, and Messellech Abebe Looby; and her brother, Arthur Day. She was predeceased by her sister, Alice McCarthy.
A service in celebration of June’s life will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 12 PM at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St., Plainville. Rites of committal will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Plainville. Friends and family are welcome to gather at the funeral home from 11 AM to 12 PM prior to the service beginning.
