Joseph “Joey” Robert Robar, 82, of Plainville, CT passed away on Friday morning, June 1, 2018 at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain.

Joey was a well-known member of the Plainville community and a longtime, devoted member of The Congregational Church of Plainville, UCC.

Joey was born December 23, 1935 in Brentwood, New Hampshire, son to the late Charles and Ethel Robar. He is survived by his brother, Ralph and his wife, Claudette Robar, of East Hartford, his sister, Mildred McGuirk, of Dorchester, MA, and several nieces and nephews who loved him and enjoyed his company.

Joey was predeceased by his parents, his brother, Arnold Robar at age seven, his sister, Annie and her husband, Joseph Coco, of Haverhill, MA, and his sister, Jessie Flanders, of Plainville.

A Memorial Service in Celebration of Joey’s life will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, June 13 at the Congregational Church of Plainville, UCC, 130 West Main Street, Plainville, CT 06062. Friends and family are welcome to gather directly at the church between 11 AM and 12:30 PM prior to the service beginning. Burial will be held privately.
