Gerard R. Michaud

Gerard R. Michaud, 89, of Bristol, passed away Wednesday February, 28, 2018 at Apple Rehab of Farmington Valley in Plainville after a short illness. He was the loving husband of the late Adrienne (Letourneau) Michaud.

Gerard was born October 7, 1928 in Van Buren, Maine, a son of the late Paul O. and Eva Michaud. He attended schools in Maine and was employed by Stanley Works in the Hardware Division retiring in 1990 after many years of service. Gerard was a Cadillac enthusiast having owned four, but mostly he loved spending time with his family.

Gerard leaves his daughter Elaine Michaud, his son Jerry Michaud, his sister, Lorraine Letourneau, his granddaughters, Paula Pastuszak, Kimberly Burrow, Jessica Michaud and Julie Shelby, his great grandchildren, Kayla Petrone, Emily Cefalu, Mariah Burrow, Devin Burrow and Hailey Shelby, his great great grandchild, Veyda Petrone and his son-in-law Jose Cruz. He was predeceased by his daughter, Nancy Cruz, his brothers, Norman and Claude Michaud and his sister, Jeanne Houle.

Funeral services in celebration of Gerard’s life will be held on Saturday beginning at 9:00 a.m. from the Bailey Funeral Home 48 Broad Street in Plainville and proceed to Our lady of Mercy Church 94 Broad Street in Plainville for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Saint Mary Cemetery in New Britain. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
