Fernand Daigle

Fernand Daigle, 86, of Plainville passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain. He was the loving husband of 61 years to Mida M. (Jandreau) Daigle.

Fernand was born on June 14, 1931 in Clair, New Brunswick, Canada, son to the late Leonard and Lucy (Cyr) Daigle. He loved to keep busy and was a hard worker, having established a career as a mason working for U.S Gypsum for 27 years. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, Third Degree, St. Ann Council 6119. He had a love for the sport of ice hockey. Fernand lived his life to the fullest and was simply a happy man.

In addition to his wife, Mida, Fernand is survived by his children, Michael Daigle, of West Hartford, Nancy Daigle Perrone, of West Hartford, Gary Daigle, of Unionville; and his grandchildren, Alexander Daigle, Kurt Daigle, Christopher and Katherine Perrone. He was predeceased by his siblings, Bert, Eve, Mederic, and Bernice.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 11 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 94 Broad St., Plainville. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery in Plainville. Family and friends are welcome to gather from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM prior to mass at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St., Plainville.
