Matthew McGucken

WALLINGFORD - Matthew McGucken, 81, departed this life on February 10, 2021 at MidState Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Carole Lee (Kingsbury) McGucken.

Matthew was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland on January 13, 1940 to the late William and Jean (Strange) McGucken.

He was a veteran of the US Army and prior to retiring worked in construction and was the co-owner of Native Lumber Company.

Matthew will be cherished in the memory of his son, Matthew McGucken, Jr. and his wife Gina; his daughters Lisa Catala and her husband Steven and Moira McMahon and her husband Tim; grandsons Shayne Catala and Ryan, Aidan and Colin McGucken; granddaughters Kerri Catala and Riley and Sydney McMahon; his siblings William, Ned and Patricia. He was predeceased by siblings: Derek, Martin, Jean, Sarah, Betty and Sandra.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at 10:30 am at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 S Elm St., Wallingford. The family will receive visitors from 9:00 - 10:30 am prior to the service. Interment will be at In Memoriam Cemetery, Wallingford.
