Louis Angelillo, Sr. Tribute

MERIDEN - Louis A. Angelillo, Sr., 82, of Meriden, passed away on November 17, 2023 at the West Haven VA Hospital.  He was the loving husband of Marianne (Galbraith) Angelillo.

Louis was born in New Britain on January 23, 1941, to the late Louis S. Angelillo and Dorothy (Zoccoli) Angelillo. Louis served his country honorably and proudly in the US Army from 1959-1965. He worked over forty-five years in the four slide industry, working for Four Slide Spring, Economy Spring, and MW Industries. Lou's role was four slide machine setting, and he was known as one of the best apprentice trainers in CT. He was very active in many communities as a member of the Sons of Italy Club, the Italian Political Independent Club of Berlin, St. Joe's Polish Society of Forrestville, and the American Legion Post 6 in New Britain. He was also an avid golfer, and enjoyed playing with Pat and the guys at the Timberlin Golf Course in Berlin. Lou also loved to take his boat out fishing, loved riding his Harley-Davidson, and most of all, cherished spending time with his beloved family. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Left to cherish Lou's memory are his wife Marianne, his five children: Louis Angelillo, Jr. of Bristol; Anthony (Sharon) Angelillo, Sr. of Plantsville; Richard Angelillo of Southington; John (Louise) Angelillo of Sleepy Hollow, NY; and David (Sandra) Angelillo of Burlington.  He is also survived by his grandchildren: Louis III, Matthew, Emily, Joshua, Anthony Jr., Derek, Devin, Nicole, Danielle, Brianna, David Jr., April, and Alex; fourteen great-grandchildren, and one on the way.  He leaves behind his brother: Richard (Charlotte) Angelillo; his sisters in law: Jane Angelillo, Laura Galbraith, Sharon (Emilio) Corsi, and Joanne (Jay) Truchon; as well as several nieces and nephews, and his close friend and confidant, Benjamin Smith.   He was preceded in death by his brother, Anthony Angelillo, and his beloved four-legged family members, Buddy, Perky, and Smokey.
