WALLINGFORD - Kenneth (Ken) Michael Twomey of Wallingford, passed away peacefully at the age of 69 on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. He was the husband of Kathy Powell Twomey.
Ken was born July 23, 1953, to the late Caufield and Helen (McClellan) Twomey in Portland, ME. His family moved to Cheshire, CT in 1958 where he spent his early life. He attended public school in Cheshire and enjoyed many skiing trips with his family. He was a member of Mt. Southington’s original ski racing team. He continued to enjoy skiing as a young adult, taking many trips to the Colorado Rockies with family and friends.
Ken spent many years working at Cheshire’s Copeland Company and later Dalton Enterprises. Ken went on to own and run his own long haul trucking company. Later he worked driving for local companies in the tri-state areas.
Ken fostered his love of animals at a young age working as a technician at the Cheshire Animal Hospital. He spent the rest of his life caring for and helping family, friends and neighbors care for their pets. He and his wife Kathy have shared this passion together, creating many happy memories helping animals in need.
Everyone who knew Ken felt his big heart, giving nature, and his sense of humor. He was the life of the party and has left his family and friends with many cherished memories to treasure.
Ken is survived by his loving wife Kathy of Wallingford, CT (who cared for him in his early illness), Kathy's son Ron of Middletown, CT, sister in-law Pat of Killingworth, CT, his brothers John Twomey (Lovie) of Waikoloa, HI, Gregory Twomey (Colleen) of Madison and sister Pamela Morris (Keith) of Gray, GA as well as beloved nieces and nephews.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. The B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, Wallingford is entrusted with his arrangements.
