Julia "Julie" Thompson, 89 of Bristol, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2021 after a brief illness. She was born on January 9, 1932 in New Britain to Rudolph and Julia Strohecker and was the middle child of two sisters. She was predeceased by her husband John "Jack" Thompson Jr.
She was an office supervisor at Landers in New Britain where she met Jack. She always said she had "a good one". She leaves behind her son John "Jay" Thompson III and his wife Deneen of Terryville; her daughter and favorite hair dresser Tracy Pace and husband Andy Pace of Plainville; grandchildren Drew and Audrey Pace. She also leaves behind her two sisters Bobby Tompkins and Peggy Cooper both of Southington; Nieces Holly Ceruti and Heidi Warsek and nephew Buddy Tompkins; grandnieces and grandnephews.
Julie was dedicated to her family and friends. She loved her children and family. She always enjoyed a good party and a good time. She had a great social circle of friends and enjoyed luncheons and talking with them. She had a great appreciation for victorian houses and loved to ride around admiring them. Julie was an avid baker and was known for her great Christmas cookies and fun Christmas Eve parties. Her enjoyment for McDonalds should have landed her a commercial tv ad, "It's delicious".
A special thanks to her special friend and caregiver Kathie Archambault, along with Karen Watras. We appreciate all the care and love from them and her family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Julia's name to The American Cancer Society. There will be no services per Julie's request. Julie can finally run her race.
