WALLINGFORD- John V. Stevens, 87, departed this life on May 6, 2022 at his residence with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Ann (Schott) Stevens for 65 years.

John was born in Meriden, CT on August 14, 1934 to the late Evarts and Jane (Van Dyke) Stevens Jr.

John spent many years with First Congregational Church of Wallingford as a Deacon where he actively served the church on many committees. He was a member of the Board of Directors of In Memoriam Cemetery Association and was a proud member of the United States Army, serving his country while stationed in Germany.

Besides his beloved wife Ann, John is survived by his two children Karen (Christopher) Hutchinson and Kenneth (Cynthia) Stevens. He is also survived by his grandchildren Daryll (Whitney) Porto, Alyssa Porto, Kyle (Kiona) Stevens, Jordan Stevens, and one great granddaughter, Camdyn Porto. He is also survived by his sister Anne Bailey and was predeceased by his brother David Stevens.
