WALLINGFORD - Helen J. Chalue, 80, passed away on May 26, 2023 in the comfort of her Wallingford home, surrounded by her family and cat (Lola).
The world became brighter on January 17, 1943, the day that Helen J. Chalue was born to the late William and Stella Bowser. In 1961, Helen graduated from Lyman Hall High School, married, and had three children. She was a stay-at-home mom until all of her children had entered into school. Later, Helen worked through retirement (30+ years) at Elm Park Baptist Home, where her co-workers envied her tireless energy and compassion.
Helen enjoyed taking trips, the beach, camping, gardening, exploring a good tag sale, and most of all looked forward to the days of spending time with her family and friends.
Helen is survived by her three children, Debra Chalue-Hruska (and husband Dan), Gordon Chalue (and wife Camille Carocci), and Stephen Chalue; brother, William Bowser (and wife Nancy); seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Other than her parents, she is predeceased by her sister, Shirley Longley.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 31, 2023 at 10am at B.C. Bailey Funeral Home located at 273 S. Elm St. in Wallingford, followed immediately by a burial at In Memoriam Cemetery in Wallingford. In honor of Helen's life, pinks and purples are encouraged to be worn for her services. B.C. Bailey Funeral Home is honored to have been entrusted with Helen's care and final arrangements. To leave a message of remembrance, please visit www.bcbailey.com.
