Edward Martin Pratt

BRISTOL - Edward Martin Pratt, 101, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2023, in his home in Forestville, Connecticut surrounded by family. Edward was born in Plainville to Emerson and Sarah Pratt on January 27, 1922, and had two siblings, Samuel and Elizabeth Pratt. He had a long career as an accountant for Plainville Plating and was a long-time member of the Plainville Historical Society. 

Edward is survived by his wife of 70 years, Jean Pratt, along with his children, Edward and his wife Donna Pratt of Collinsville, CT, Charles and his wife Joan Pratt of Otis, MA, and Carol and her husband Timothy McCarthy of Prospect, CT along with five grandchildren. 

Edward enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending his summers in the house he owned in Wellfleet, Cape Cod for over forty years. His secret to a long and healthy life was eating blueberries every morning. 

A ceremony will be held this spring in Plainville. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a contribution in Edward’s name be made to the Plainville Historical Society, 29 Pierce Street, Plainville, CT 06062.
