Agustin Gomez (Perez)

Agustin Gomez (Perez), 97 of West Hartford, CT passed away peacefully on September 9, 2021. He was born on July 29, 1924 in Villel, Spain to Primitivo Gomez and Guadalupe Perez.

He served in the Spanish military before marrying Lilia de Atienza in 1952. The following year, they emigrated to Plainville, CT, where they lived for over 60 years, raising their three children. Agustin worked in manufacturing for many years and retired in 1989.

He was predeceased by his wife, Lilia, granddaughter Sara (Bolduc) Almeida and three of his siblings. He is survived by his daughter Ofelia Bolduc and her husband Christopher of Burlington, CT, his sons Robert Gomez and wife Kristin Reed of North Pownal, VT, Joseph Gomez and wife Kathryn of Southington, CT, grandchildren Timothy Bolduc and wife Jennifer of West Milford, NJ, Alexandra Gomez and wife Rose of Peacham, VT, Elisa Gomez-Reed of Danby, VT, Alicia Gomez of West Palm Beach, FL, Elena Gomez of Bloomfield, CT, and great grandchildren Rachel and Emma Bolduc. Agustin is also survived by one younger brother, Jose (Pepe) Gomez of Valencia, Spain and several nieces and nephews in both the United States and Spain.

Agustin was known for his delicious paellas that always brought family and friends together. He will be remembered by his family for his undying love and care for his wife Lilia. Agustin will be greatly missed by all.

A private Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Plainville on September 25 at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Agustin may be made to Brookdale Chatfield Holiday Fund, 1 Chatfield Drive, West Hartford, CT 06110.
