Theresa F. Lachapelle

Theresa F. (Dubay) Lachapelle, 84, of Southington, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the Hospital of Central CT Bradley Memorial Campus in Southington. She was the beloved wife of 61 years to Andrew Lachapelle.

Theresa was born on April 11, 1933, in Van Buren, Maine, daughter to the late Edward G. and Eveline M. (Violette) Dubay. She was a longtime resident of Southington and a founding member and communicant of The Church of Saint Dominic in Southington. In her earlier years, Theresa worked as a typist for the Travelers Insurance Company, up until marriage when establishing and caring for her family was her main priority. Her family was everything to her and every addition of a new baby lit up her world. She was an avid Red Sox and UCONN women’s basketball fan. As a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Theresa will be dearly missed and everyone that crossed paths with her will fondly remember the memories they have shared together.

In addition to her husband, Andrew, Theresa is survived by her children: her sons, Andrew and his wife, Nancy, Charles and his wife, Denise, William and his wife, Leeanne, Richard, Roy and his wife, Therese, and Alan and his wife, Maryann; her daughters, Bernadette Vincent and her husband, Rickey, and Celia Lachapelle and her husband, Kurt Bergstrom; her siblings, Edward J. Dubay, Marie Imelda (Dubay) Harger, Sister Rose Marie Dubay, Guy Francois Dubay, and Anne Marie (Dubay) Trombley. She had 21 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and another one on the way. In addition, she leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was predeceased by her grandson, Stephen Lachapelle and her brother, Leo James Dubay.

Funeral services in celebration of Theresa’s life will be begin on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 9 AM from Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St., Plainville for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at The Church of Saint Dominic, 1050 Flanders Road, Southington. Burial will follow in the State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 13 between 5 and 7 PM.
