Steven C. "Steve" Litke

May 10, 1963 ~ April 24, 2017 (age 53) 53 Years Old

Steven C. “Steve” Litke, beloved son of Gale Litke and proud father to Mackenzie and Brett Litke, 53, of Plainville, passed away unexpectedly on April 24, 2017. He is now reunited with his father, George E. Litke, “Paw” who predeceased him in 2011.

Steve was born on May 10, 1963 in Bristol, son to Gale (Monsees) Litke, of Plainville, and the late George E. Litke. He was a lifelong resident of Plainville who attended local schools graduating from Plainville High School in 1981. Steve was an outstanding mason, landscaper, and contractor. He loved fishing, snowmobiling, hunting and above all spending time with his family. He had the biggest heart and was the type of man that would put anyone first and himself last. There are not too many people who were as giving and hardworking as Steve.  As a father, son, brother, nephew, uncle, godfather and best friend to many, Steve will be dearly missed as those who knew him cherish the memories he leaves behind.

Steve leaves behind his son, Mackenzie Litke and his fiancé, Lyndsey Johnson, of Plainville; his son, Brett Litke and his girlfriend, Caitlyn Shaw, of Plainville; his sister, Loriann Vendetti and her husband, Josef, of FL; his sister, Susan Williams and her husband, Christopher, of Harwinton; his sister, Lisa Connelly and her husband, Jim, of Plainville; his sister, Jennifer Bennett and her husband, Mark, of Farmington; his Aunt Grace, Uncle Gus, Aunt Mary and Aunt Kathy; and many nieces and nephews. In addition, he leaves behind three little girls who referred to him as “Pops” who held a special place in his heart.

Friends and family are welcome to gather at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St., Plainville on Saturday, April 29 between 10 AM and 2 PM. A Service in Celebration of Steve’s life will be held at 2PM at the funeral home. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to perform a random act of kindness in Steven’s memory.
