Nicolas "Nic" Richard Murphy

Nicolas “Nic” Richard Murphy, 19, of Burlington passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017.  He was the beloved son of Christopher M. and Jennifer (Caron) Murphy.

Nic was born March 20, 1998, in Bristol.  He attended Lake Garda Elementary School, Har-Bur Middle School, attended Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts for a short time his Freshman year of  High School and was a 2016 graduate of  Lewis S. Mills High School in Burlington.  He was a passionate and creative young man with great vision who loved art, music, playing the mandolin and great friends.  Nic was a talented music and video producer and also enjoyed acting, especially improv. He performed in many plays at the Connecticut Family Theater in West Hartford and the Warner Theater in Torrington.  Nic enjoyed the great outdoors, snowboarding, car drifting and off-roading with his friends and was a huge car enthusiast.  Check out The Happy Robots Productions (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdj4Ro7YUN-EFQZ0Wuso5Ag) You Tube page that he and the crew worked on before they disassembled in 2016 when they parted and went their separate ways.

Besides his parents, Nic leaves his brother Alex C. Murphy of Burlington and Jesse Serrano 2nd cousin of Bristol that was more like a brother who they grew up with.

He leaves his paternal grandparents, Barbara (Howard) Murphy of Plainville and Thomas Murphy of Winter Haven, Florida and his wife "Peg", his maternal grandparents, Richard and Alice (Plourde) Caron of Plainville. 6 Aunts, 4 Uncles and 18 cousins,  Sandy (Caron) Gazdowicz with Julia and Mark of Burlington,  Dave and Brook Caron with Kayla, Kenzie, Mariah, Dylan, Kiki and Maggie of Plainville,  Tom and Dino Murphy Pascua with Michele of Hamden,  Cassidy Murphy with Elizabeth (Frederick), Kelly and families of Vermont and Patrick and family of North Carolina,  Robert and Judy Murphy along with Jake of Burlington, Cate Murphy of Hamden with Greg Emery and family of Middletown and Brian Emery of Forestville, Margaret Murphy with Mike and Annie Nocera of Guilford and Christina Sanchez and family of Bristol/Bantam. So many “Great” Aunts and Uncles, 2nd and 3rd cousins who he loved and they adored him, plus so many friends especially Jake Roberts now of Torrington and Trevor Fox of Harwinton. He leaves his 6lb tiny kitty, Pippin, who he adored and she bonded to him as the runt of the 4 week old litter of four we rescued 7 years ago, Sammy our Bichon also a rescue 8 years ago who is approximately 10 now and Mocha our 2 year old Chocolate Lab.

Family and friends may gather at the Bailey Funeral Home located at 48 Broad Street in Plainville on Saturday September 16, from 11a.m. until 2p.m. for visitation.  Immediately following everyone is invited to attend “Nic’s Celebration of Life” event at the Burlington Men’s Club on Covey Rd. There will be food and an Open Mic informal setting.  Please come and share words of remembrance and any music that all his talented friends might want to share with Nic from 3p.m. on.  We can’t think of a better way to celebrate his life then with an open Jam Session.
