Luzmaria E. Morneault-Welton

Luzmaria E. “Lucy” Morneault-Welton, 40, of Shelton, passed away Wednesday May 24, 2017 at Griffin Hospital in Derby. She was the wife of Daniel Welton.

Lucy was born November 30, 1976 in New Britain, a daughter of the late Jeannine Morneault. She was a graduate of New Britain High School and had worked as a cosmetologist for several years.  She also worked for several years as a care provider at New Horizons Village in Unionville, where she eventually met her husband, Dan.  Lucy enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and friends.  Lucy had a passionate sense of family.  She had a big heart and a bigger sense of responsibility to protect those closest to her.

Besides her husband Daniel, she leaves her sister Nicole Guglietta and her husband Steven of Unionville. She also leaves her nephew Jason and her niece Gina whom she loved dearly.  The family would like to recognize the exceptional doctors, nurses and staff at Griffin Hospital and CT Hospice for all of their care, compassion and support.

A memorial service in celebration of Lucy’s life will be held on Saturday June 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Congregational Church of Plainville, UCC 130 West Main Street. Burial will be held privately. The Bailey Funeral home 48 Broad Street in Plainville has care of arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Lucy’s memorial fund in care of her family.
