Helen D. Perschy

Helen D. (Dirgo) Perschy, 93, of Plainville, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2018 at the Jerome Home in New Britain. She is now reunited with her loving husband of 70 years, Louis W. Perschy, Sr., who predeceased her in 2011.

Helen was born on June 7, 1924 in Bridgeport, CT, daughter to the late John and Susan (Buben) Dirgo. She was a longtime resident of Plainville and was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church. She was employed by General Electric working on the assembly line up until her retirement. She was very involved with the Plainville Senior Center, taking part in many of the activities and outings. Helen enjoyed cooking, especially her infamous apple and potato strudels, traveling with her husband, and crocheting many Afghans for several friends and family members. Above all, Helen was a loving, caring, and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who will be missed dearly by her entire family.

Helen is survived by her son, John Perschy and his wife, Rochelle, of Norwalk, her daughter-in-law, Suzanne Perschy, her grandson, Robert Perschy and his wife, Deborah, of Southington, her granddaughter, Diane Wojcicki and her husband, Andrew, of Southington, her grandson, Joseph Perschy and his wife, Shannon, of Medfield, MA, her granddaughter, Christine Karimi and her husband, Cyrus, of Trumbull, her brother, Andrew Dirgo and his wife, Betty, of Rocky Hill, her sister, Susan Rivard, of Enfield, her sister, Marge (Dirgo) Kerpchar, of Bridgeport, 7 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Helen was predeceased by her son, Louis Perschy, Jr.

A celebration of Helen’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 10 at 12:00 PM at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St., Plainville. Committal services will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery in Plainville at a later date.  Family and friends may gather on Wednesday morning, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
