Catherine (Cassidy) Sadowsky

Catherine (Cassidy) Sadowsky, 67, of Parrish, FL, died peacefully at home with family by her side on December 23, 2017.  She was the wife of Dennis W. Sadowsky, her husband of 44 years.

Catherine was born in Southington, CT on September 24, 1950, daughter of the late Thomas Leo and Yvonne (Alix) Cassidy.  She was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Cassidy, and sister, Judith Ford.  She had lived in Plainville, CT for 63 years before moving to Florida in 2014.  She had a successful career with SNET until she retired in 2003.

Catherine was generous, kind, and outgoing with a knack for making people feel comfortable and welcome.   She loved to read, “discuss” politics, and spend as much time as she could with her grandchildren.  She was a member and former president of the Telephone Pioneers of America.  She had also served as a lector and religious education teacher at Our Lady of Mercy.

Besides her husband, she leaves her daughter and son-in-law Caryn and Michael Brannen; daughter and son-in-law Judith and Michael Dietrich; Elizabeth, Kevin, Sarah, Joshua, and Matthew her five grandchildren whom she adored; many nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.  She also leaves behind many lifelong friends that are truly family.

Funeral services in celebration of Catherine’s life will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 beginning at 9:00 a.m. from the Bailey Funeral Home 48 Broad Street in Plainville to Our Lady of Mercy Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial in Saint Joseph Cemetery in Plainville will be held in the spring. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
