Barbara (Schaller) Crowley Cianci

Barbara (Schaller) Crowley) Cianci, 82, of Plainville, passed away Wednesday December 6, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late James J. Cianci and John Crowley.

Barbara was born October 25, 1935 in Hartford, a daughter of the late August and Mary (Christian) Schaller and was a longtime Plainville resident. She was a graduate of Hartford Holy Trinity High School and had worked as a telephone operator at S.N.E.T. retiring after 35 years of service. Barbara was an active member of the Plainville Senior Center as well as the Telephone Pioneers. She loved music and dancing and enjoyed gathering with her high school and S.N.E.T. friends. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who were her pride and joy and she enjoyed being at all of their events. Barbara was a longtime Communicant of Saint Matthew Church in Forestville.

Barbara leaves her son, James Cianci and his wife Kimberly of Rocky Hill, her daughters, Patricia Binkowski and her husband Jay of Parkland, FL and Marie Susco and her husband John of Southington, her longtime companion, George “Scotty” Kerr, her sisters and brother, Agnes Weeks and Mary O’Meara both of Florida, August Schaller of West Hartford and Patricia Schaller also of West Hartford, her grandchildren, Jordyn and Olivia Binkowski, Nicole and Kristen Cianci and Austin and Rianna Susco.  Barbara was predeceased by her sister Bernadette Schaller.

A Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Barbara’s life will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. directly at Our Lady of Mercy Church 94 Broad Street in Plainville. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery in Plainville. Family and friends may gather at the Bailey Funeral Home 48 Broad Street in Plainville on Friday (today) from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. If desired memorial donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation 306 Industrial Park Road Middletown, CT 06457.
