Anthony C. Colagiovanni, Sr.

April 20, 1942 ~ December 11, 2017 (age 75) 75 Years Old


Anthony C. Colagiovanni, Sr., 75, of Plainville passed away in the comfort of his home on December 11, 2017, with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband to Lorraine M. (Haag) Colagiovanni.

Anthony was born on April 20, 1942 in New Britain, son to the late Angelo and Rosa (DiMaio) Colagiovanni. He was a longtime resident of Plainville. After high school graduation, Anthony attended trade school and began his plumbing career at UA Local 777 Plumbers and Pipefitters then continued with his plumbing career at New Departure Hyatt (GM). Anthony retired after a 16 year career, but went on to work at Superior Electric Co. until 2004. After retirement, he also found enjoyment in working as a shuttle bus driver for Gene Langan Volkswagen, where he made many lasting impressions and friendships.  As an avid fisherman and hunter, he was a member of the NRA, the Southington Sportsman Association, and the Bristol Fish and Game.  Anthony loved to participate in tag sales and volunteered for Our Lady of Mercy Church’s tag sales. In addition, he volunteered at the Food Pantry for the 7th Day Adventist Church in Plainville. Anthony enjoyed Texas Holdem Poker. He will be deeply missed by his entire family and all that knew him, as they continue to cherish the memories they share together.

In addition to his wife, Lorraine, Anthony is survived by his brother, Carlo Colagiovanni, of Plainville; his daughters, Krystal Polito, of Wolcott, and Susan DeMartinis, of Bristol; his son, Anthony Colagiovanni, Jr., of Farmington; his stepdaughters, Carrie Aradhye, of Round Rock, TX, Stacey Mills, of Plainville, and Michelle Was, of Plainville; his fifteen grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services in celebration of Anthony’s life will be begin on Friday, December 15, 2017 at 9 AM at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St., Plainville with a prayer service being held at 10 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Saint Mary Cemetery, 1141 Stanley Street, New Britain. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, December 14, between 5 and 8 PM.
