Edwin Russell Madeley, Jr.

Edwin Russell Madeley, Jr., 80, of Bristol, passed away at the Hospital of Central Connecticut on Thursday, February 22, 2024. He was the widower of his wife of 36 years, the late Blanche (Blancato) Madeley.

Born in New Britain on June 3, 1943, he was the son of the late Edwin and Mary (Frazier) Madeley. Better known to his family and friends as "Junior", Edwin worked for over 30 years at Berkshire Oil, Inc of Bristol, delivering oil to the community. His dedication to the job and skill with furnace maintenance earned him much respect among his coworkers. He retired on June 25, 2009 but continued to work for a time. Edwin enjoyed playing video games, building Lego Cars and bowling with his family and friends in his free time.

Edwin is predeceased by his sisters Nancy Madeley, Barbara Frye and his grandson David Blancato, he is survived by his son, Edwin Russell Madeley III of Bristol; 2 step-daughter's, Dawn Joyce & Annette Blancato of Bristol; a step-son Frank Blancato of New York; 2 sisters, Betty Allen of Bristol, Rosemary Dolge of North Carolina; 3 brothers, Algert Madeley, Timothy Madeley both of Bristol and Anthony Madeley of Newington, several Neices, Nephews,13 Grandchildren & 1 Great Grandchild.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 12 to 2 p.m. on Friday, March 1st at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St., Plainville. A prayer service will begin at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
