Douglas Ouellette, 64, of Bristol, passed away on February 25, 2024 in the comfort of his home.
Born in New Britain on September 20, 1959, he was the son of the late Leo Ouellette and Annette (Pelliter) Berube. He graduated from Plainville High School where he excelled at diving and baseball. Despite being struck by an automobile as a child, Doug fought all odds and never let the pain from his injuries slow him down. With the strong will and steadfast persistence that exemplifies the Ouellette family spirit, Doug worked tirelessly to provide for his family. He retired from Mizzy Construction, Inc. He loved being outside, fishing and hunting and was an amazing cook. Doug was a dedicated fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Boston Red Sox.
Douglas is survived by his daughter Nicole Ouellette of Bristol, Douglas Ouellette, Jr., of Bristol; grandchildren Demetrius Diaz of Bristol, Alexys Ouellette of Bristol; three brothers, Leo Ouellete and spouse Eileen Ouellette of North Carolina, Rick Ouellette and spouse Susan Ouellette of Manchester, Glen Ouellette and spouse Joanne Ouellette of Glastonbury and Carrie Berube of Florida; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two children, twins Maurice and Yves Ouellette; his step father Maurice Berube; his sister Linda Ouellette and brothers, Lou Ouellette, Michael Ouellette, and Dale Berube.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 8th at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St., Plainville. A Prayer service will take place at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Plainville.
