Sherry Cole: Dear Margo and family,
Phil will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He will still be a part of the neighborhood in everything he touched, made or helped with. He will be a part of our street forever.
Below is a poem that reminds me of Phil.
I AM NOT THERE
Do not stand by my grave and weep
For I am not there.
I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am diamonds that glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning hush
I am the swift uplifting rush of butterflies in joyous flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there.
I did not die.

Andrea Flanagan: Dear Margo - I am so sorry that I could not be there at this time but I will see you soon. I want to share some of the many special moments we had with you and Phil. I remember first meeting Phil at the West Hartford swing dance. We went out afterwords together and I remember eyeing Phil to see if he got my stamp of approval. Well, he got more than my stamp of approval. And the more Tony and I got to know him we realized what a truly wonderful and caring person he was. It is hard for me to speak of Phil in the past, however I know he will live on in your heart and the hearts of many others including ours. I remember our picnic in your nearby park watching fireworks. We shared in Phil's joy as he bought his brand new Mazda sports car. I enjoyed watching you and Phil cultivate and enhance your garden and also both of you working in the basement to get his trains set up. (The basement itself wasn't always a joy, however). My fondest memory though is being in the bridal party at your wedding and helping you and Phil celebrate that most cherished day. I don't really have the correct words to say but please know that Tony and I send our deepest condolences, we are so very saddened at Phil's passing. May God Bless you and give you strength and courage at this time. With love, Andi
