Peter E. Schmidt, 71, husband of Janice (Zielinski) Schmidt joined his parents and the Lord on Saturday July 5, 2014.
Peter was born in New Britain a son of the late Arthur and Ethel (Peterson) Schmidt and was a 1961 graduate of Plainville High School where he was the only high school golfer never to lose a match. He attended and graduated from Airline School in Hartford and worked for Delta Airlines at Kennedy Airport in New York for several years. He then was briefly on the PGA Golf Tour, eventually becoming the golf club pro at Kutcher’s resort in Monticello, New York. He later joined the family business in Plainville, CT.
Besides his wife, he leaves his son, Peter, Jr. of Andover, MA, his brother, David Schmidt and his wife Jeanette of Southington, CT, his niece, Pamela Miller of Ohio and his nephew, Dr. Steven Schmidt of PA.
Funeral services and burial will be held privately. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Ingraham Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center 400 North Main Street Bristol, CT 06010 or to a charity of the donor’s choice. The Bailey Funeral Home 48 Broad Street in Plainville has care of arrangements.
