PLAINVILLE; Laurie Holcomb, 67 of Plainville passed away Thursday July 24, 2014 at her home.
Laurie was born July 30, 1946 in Bristol a daughter of the late William George and Katherine (Koch) Holcomb and was a longtime Plainville resident. She was employed by the City of Bristol as the Administrative Assistant to the Fire Chief, retiring after many years of service. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life and Laurie loved attending their various activities.
She leaves her grandchildren, Tyler, Jordan and Kayleigh Barber of Berlin and Amanda, Caleb, Janique and Ellie Bulawa of Arizona, her daughter, Kim Barber and her husband Todd of Berlin, her sisters, Kathy DiBenedetto and her husband Tito of Middletown, Tricia Rice and her husband Dewey of Nevada, Mary Vachon of Rocky Hill and Betty Balthazard and her husband Roy of Massachusetts, her sister-in-law Valerie Holcomb of Plainville and her son, Tony Bulawa of Arizona. Laurie was predeceased by her brothers, Plainville Police Officer Robert Holcomb and William Holcomb.
Funeral services in celebration of Laurie’s life will be held on Saturday August 2, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church 355 Camp Street in Bristol. Burial will be held privately. There are no calling hours. The Bailey Funeral Home 48 Broad Street in Plainville has care of arrangements.
