Jason Halat, 39, of Plainville, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, April 11, 2014.
He was born in New Britain on August 15, 1974, the son of Anton and Janice (Kaminski) Halat of Bethlehem, NH. He attended EC Goodwin Technical School, from where he earned his diploma, and began his career as an electrician shortly after. He was currently working for ECI Electrical Contractors in Hartford, where he leaves many friends and coworkers. A devoted father, Jason’s greatest joy was attending his sons sporting events, including Plainville Little League where he assisted with coaching, and football.
In addition to his parents, he leaves his son, Austin, who was his pride and joy, and his mother, Melissa, both of Plainville; his girlfriend, Keri Schmidt, his grandmother, Anna Halat; and his aunts, uncles, and extended family in the U.S. and Germany.
Family and friends may gather on Tuesday evening, from 5-8 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home, 48 Broad St, Plainville. A prayer service will be held at the conclusion of the visitation at 8 p.m. Burial will be held privately in New Hampshire at the family’s convenience.
