Jane Fortier, of Bristol, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at her home after a brief illness.
Jane was the oldest daughter of the late Robert and Emma Irving. She attended Plainville schools and Central Connecticut State University. She had a long career at Pratt and Whitney, where she made lasting friendships. After retiring to a sprawling farm in Pennsylvania, she returned to Connecticut two years ago. She will be missed by friends she made at the Plainville Senior Center, where she helped deliver Meals On Wheels.
Jane leaves her sister Nancy Gennett, niece Meghan Mitchell, great nieces Mckenna and Erin, great nephew Wyatt and her sister Paula Poplawski and niece Lisa Hyland.
Services will be held privately. There are no calling hours. There will be a gathering for family and friends at the Loop Banquet Hall 161-B Woodford Avenue in Plainville on Saturday, July 19, 2014 from 10:30am-12:30pm. Jane’s family asks in lieu of flowers please volunteer or make a donation to a worthy cause and treat others with kindness. The Bailey Funeral Home 48 Broad Street in Plainville has care of arrangements.
