PLAINVILLE; Amanda C. (Arnaiz) Gonsalves, 92, of Plainville passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Monday March 31, 2014 at Bristol Hospital. She was the widow of Alvaro Gonsalves.
She was born December 27, 1921 in Williamstown, VT and was the daughter of the late John and Auparo (Canales) Arnaiz. She was a longtime Plainville resident. She was a homemaker who loved being with and taking care of her family. She also enjoyed taking part in all the activities at Sheridan Woods where she recently resided. She inspired everyone she met with her love of life, sense of humor, warmth and kindness.
She is survived by her sons, Al Gonsalves and his wife Janice of Bristol and John Gonsalves and his wife Carla of Weatogue, her daughters, Ann Marie Brown and her husband Butch of Oakdale and Alice Chamberland of Bristol, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Amy Brown and her 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Family and friends may visit at the Bailey Funeral Home 48 broad Street in Plainville on Monday April 7, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial in Saint Joseph Cemetery in Plainville will be at the convenience of her family.
